Dom Pristava was built in 1641 and it is a listed building due to its historical importance. It is at the edge of a meadow at the eastern bottom of the slopes of Španov vrh, above the village of Javorniški Rovt. In the past it was used by supervisors of mining production and transport of iron ore, which was mined on the slopes in the vicinity. Karel Zois, a famous botanist, made a botanical garden – Zois' Park here. More than two hundred years ago he found a yellow flowering pansy, nowadays known as Zois' violet, which grows only on the slopes of the Karavanke. The park is full of magnificent exotic and domestic trees and three small lakes, home to numerous interesting little beings. Pristava with Zois' Park is a beautiful place for relaxation in nature and an excellent starting point for mountain trips, also to Stol, the highest mountain in the Karavanke. In the vicinity there is a famous fossil site with 300-million-year old carbon rocks, attracting amateur collectors and scientists.
